KNIGHTS BEAT FRONTS

For the second time this season the Kingston Frontenacs played the defending OHL Champion London Knights extremely tough, but for the second time, they fell just short in a 3-2 loss on Sunday afternoon. Matt Rupert scored on the power play with less than four minutes remaining in regulation time to break a 2-2 tie and give the Knights the win.

Billy Jenkins opened the scoring for the Fronts on a power play of their own, but the Knights would add another power play goal to start the second period from Dakota Memis to tie the game at one. Ryan Hanes responded 63 seconds later to restore the Fronts lead, but Seth Griffith tied the game midway through the second period. The game would stay that way until Rupert scored the game winner late in the third period.

Mike Morrison went the distance in goal for Kingston making 29 saves, while Anthony Stolarz made 28 saves in goal for London.

The Fronts travel to Belleville on Wednesday night
