Frontenacs Trade DiPerna to Kitchener for McEneny
Kingston—General Manager Doug Gilmour announced today that the Kingston Frontenacs have traded defenceman Dylan DiPerna and a 2nd round selection to the Kitchener Rangers in exchange for defenceman Evan McEneny. In 20 games this season, DiPerna, a native of Mississauga, Ontario, registered 1 goal and 2 assists for the Frontenacs. McEneney, who was Kitchener’s 2nd round choice in the 2010 OHL Priority Selection. The Hamilton, Ontario native has 2 goals, 5 assists, and 23 penalties in minutes in 15 games this season with the Rangers.
“It’s very tough choice letting Dylan go, he’s a great kid and he will do well in Kitchener,” said General Manager Doug Gilmour. “Evan brings us some much-needed blue line experience and he’s a great addition to our team.
Along with DiPerna, Kingston is sending the Rangers back their 2nd round pick in 2015.
McEneny is described as an offensively-minded defenceman who recorded a career high 24 points in 2012-13. He has the ability to make a good first pass and join the rush, and his size allows him to play an effective physical game. He was signed as a free agent by the Vancouver Canucks in September 2012.
The Frontenacs are in action at home on Friday, November 22 vs. Oshawa Generals at 7:00 p.m.
