Dear Frontenacs fans,
We hope that you are all enjoying your summer and staying safe and healthy. I wanted to personally reach out to you with regard to the difficult decision we made yesterday in not offering General Manager, Darren Keily, a new contract. Darren’s contract is set to expire on August 12th,. Over the past several years, Darren has been a loyal member of our organization and has helped us to grow. Our organization wants to thank him for his commitment to the club. We wish him the very best in his future endeavours.
The Kingston Frontenacs organization believes that an exciting opportunity is ahead for us. We have a chance to reset and redevelop our plan and vision. We are committed to working tirelessly to improve our team. A priority for our next General Manager, will be to strategically build a sustainable program with an emphasis on excellence for years to come. To do this, we will invest heavily in developing our program so that our players and prospects have the best resources at their disposal. Kingston is the best hockey city in the world, and you all deserve a team that makes you proud.
Currently, we ask for your patience and continued support as our hiring committee begins the search for our next leader. We will certainly keep everyone posted as information becomes available. We feel that our organization is in an excellent position with Head Coach, Paul McFarland, returning after three incredible seasons in the NHL. Additionally, our talented group of players, led by CHL Rookie of the Year, Shane Wright, will provide plenty of excitement as we enter the 2020/2021 season.
We look forward to seeing all of you back at the Leon’s Center soon. Thank you all so much for your continued support and loyalty to the Black and Gold.
Doug Springer, President and Governor
