The Kingston Frontenacs are please to announce that they signed Jacob Smith to a contract and a university school package. Smith, selected in the 7th round, 126th overall in the 2011 OHL Priority Selection is a native of Sudbury and played last season with the Sudbury Wolves Minor Midgets. In 61 games, he scored 38 goals and had 70 points along with 44 minutes in penalties.

The natural centreman is the fourth player signed by the Club from this May’s draft.

“Give credit to him,” said Doug Gilmour, General Manager for the Frontenacs. “He came in here, worked hard and really impressed our staff and our scouts. Good for him.”

The Frontenacs continue training camp all week with their first exhibition game on Friday September 9th at 7:30 p.m. versus the Belleville Bulls. Tickets are just $10 and are available at the K-Rock Centre Box office.
