[TRADE] Frontenacs acquire Gabe Vilardi and Sean Day from Spitfires for Cody Morgan and Priority Selections

The Kingston Frontenacs have acquired forward Gabe Vilardi and defenceman Sean Day from the Windsor Spitfires for rookie forward Cody Morgan, a 2nd round selection in 2020 (from Mississauga), their 2nd round selection in 2022, their 2nd round selection in 2024, and their 2nd round selection in 2025, their 3rd round selection in 2020, and 3 conditional selections in 2023 (3rd round) and 2027 (2nd round) and 2028 (2nd round) of the OHL Priority Selection.
“We wish Cody all the best, he has a bright future ahead of him in the OHL,” said General Manager Darren Keily.
Vilardy, a 6’3”, 201 lbs. Kingston, Ontario native, was the 1st round draft pick, 11th overall, of the Los Angeles Kings in 2017 NHL Entry Draft. He was a member of the 2017 Memorial Cup-winning Windsor Spitfires, with an impressive 29 goals and 32 assist season in 2016-17. In 111 regular season games played in the OHL, Vilardi has 46 goals, 53 assists for 99 points.
Day, a 6’3”, 230 lbs. Rochester, Michigan native, was the 3rd round draft pick, 81st overall, of the New York Rangers in 2016 NHL Entry Draft. He was a member of the 2017 Memorial Cup-winning Windsor Spitfires, after being acquired from the Mississauga Steelheads. Day was selected 4th overall in the 2013 OHL Priority Selection, as a 15 year-old, after being given exceptional player status. In 268 regular season games played in the OHL, Day has 41 goals, 91 assists for 132 points.

The Kingston Frontenacs face the defending Memorial Cup Champion Windsor Spitfires this Friday at Rogers K-Rock Centre.
